Progress!
Weigh in:
Last week's weigh in: Down 2.2 pounds in the previous two weeks! That put me at just 0.2 over my weight back on December 20th. I am super excited. I wasn't sure I believed her when she told me my weight. Now that I'm moving in the right direction again I need to keep up my focus so I can stay on track to my goals.
My next weight milestone is to get back into the 180s, but I will feel more like celebrating in the 170s. This is only because I was around 184 last year for a bit before my weight started to creep up again when I stopped putting in the effort and focus to stay on track and on plan.
Exercise:
Sunday, January 22 - 15 minutes on Gazelle with iPod (1,773 steps, 100 calories burned); 3 sets each of bicep curls, shoulder presses, and overhead tricep dips with 2 pound weights sitting on balance ball (sets 1 and 2 - 10 reps each, set 3 - 12 reps)
I decided to try and push myself with the 2 pound dumbbells even though it has been a while since I used them, or even since using just the 1 pound ones for this, but I am glad I did. I can really feel that I worked those muscle groups and I just feel good in general for accomplishing it.
Wednesday, January 25 - 15 minutes on Gazelle with iPod (1,829 steps, 103 calories burned); 2 sets of 10 reps each of bicep curls, shoulder presses, and overhead tricep dips with 2 pound weights sitting on balance ball
A realization regarding an area of self-sabotage:
Doing Weight Watchers means that there are no off limits foods. However, I tend to get caught up in focusing on not letting anything be off limits and proving that I can still have all of the treats and splurges that I end up eating more of those foods that I would normally if I wasn't trying to prove something to myself. I have a fear of feeling deprived on this journey. Along with that I forget to reinforce the good feelings associated with not overeating, with eating a balanced assortment of foods during the day, and with generally living a healthier lifestyle even when its through lots of baby steps.
Tomorrow I weigh in again, and will try to do an update post of how January goals went and what my February goals are, but that might not happen until this coming weekend.
