I saw my expected gain at my meeting last Tuesday night. I knew it was coming which made it much easier to accept and move on from. I stayed for the meeting itself and was glad I did. We're going over program changes this week/tomorrow, but I needed to get back into the routine of going since it has been so spotty the last few months.
Using the dry erase calendar for food planning is already going really well. I did not realize how low quality the calendar I was using was and so had to go to Target to look for a replacement. Well, technically I got two replacements, as I figured out that it would be nice to start planning for the following week halfway through the current week but I want to be able to keep the current week's calendar/plan up on the wall. I put them up using the velcro-esque picture hanger tabs from 3M so I can take one down and shift the other up on the wall. I'm using them in conjunction with eTools, using the eTools for keeping accurate tallies of the points value and making any minor (or major) edits while the days/week progresses.
This whole situation with the dry erase board(s) has reminded me that I need to find the box for my digital camera to get the cable so that I can start taking pictures to put in my entries and get them off the camera.
I've decided to set some goals for the month, and see how that works out. I've tried this in the past without much consistent success, but I think I was trying to do weekly goals. Also, I've decided that I need to be better about knowing my energy level limits and not set so many goals in different categories of my life, and just set some overall life goals for the month.
- Start exercising/getting in extra activity 2-3 days a week
- Clear out the rest of the boxes and containers in the living room
- Get papazan chair from parents' house and put in apartment (dependent on clearing out the living room and getting my Dad to bring the chair up, as I do not think it will fit in either my or my mom's car).
- Finish dealing with stuff in the basement at the school. This includes:
1) Cataloging items in the damaged boxes and disposing of them
2) Repack containers of grad school stuff to make it movable
3) Determine what else is in the basement, sorting out what should
come to the apartment and what needs to go to my parents' house.
4) Move all items out of the basement to parents' house and/or my
apartment.
Bonus goal (a.k.a. if I have the time and energy)
- Sort through and clean/disinfect stuff in boxes in corner of bedroom (things in these boxes got really musty and need to be cleaned/disinfected before being put where they "belong" in my apartment.
You go girl! :-D
