Last week: 195.2
This week: 196.2
Difference: +1.0
Total: -22.4
I'm feeling a bit ambivalent about the gain. I weighed-in because I knew I should, but since I'm still not planning my food so that I stay within my allotted points I'm just glad that it wasn't more.
October Goals Update
- Tracking - Well I'm definitely back in the swing of things with the act of tracking even if I am not back to tracking points values/staying within my allotted points.
I was feeling some major PMS related carb cravings and snacking attacks, and gave into those feelings with my eating this week. I know that was what kept me from making the change to being more mindful of my eating and points values.
- Sleep schedule - I did not make as much progress with this as I would have liked. Things are getting all scrambled with starting the new job.
- Exercise - This is the one area that I made no progress on what-so-ever.
November Goals Setting
These are more or less a continuation/expansion on October's.
- Tracking - Keep writing down what I'm eating. Make sure that what I'm eating stays within my allotted points for the week.
- Exercise - 2x a week by the end of the month.
- Sleep schedule - Keep working on this! New job stuff is going to factor in here, and so will some events going on with the skateboard park and the building in general.
The big news this week was that I was hired for a part-time position at Five Below on Sunday. Orientation was Tuesday night. Basically a quick overview of the company and filling out all the new hire paperwork. Friday I had my first "shift." Since the store isn't open yet there isn't any stock in the store. Well, at least there wasn't. Friday I spent 4.5 hours sorting/moving boxes of stock. My body was sore and hurting by the end of my shift, and as expected it was a lot worse on Saturday. By Sunday though it was tolerable. My next shift is on Tuesday. I believe that's when we'll do register training. Also probably still have stock to be taken out of boxes and put out I would guess.
After getting the job last Sunday, it dawned on me that I am going to have to keep track of my hours and I would like to be able to do so in a mobile fashion. So, I bought a new planner. It is about 5in.x7in., is a 16 month planer (September 2010 - December 2011) and has weekly planner pages. While my old planner technically fits in my purse, it is the binder page kind and I have daily planner pages for it. I could have just used the monthly pages, but this just felt like it made the most sense for what I need to keep track of.
In non-"fun" purchase news, I bought a new humidifier. I threw away my old one when I moved in with my parents. It just wasn't working well anymore. I decided I needed a new one last week because my nose was getting super clogged and dried out, and I was waking up with mild bloody noses. I'm prone to them due to having sinus issues, and having a humidifier usually helps.
The new humidifier is set up differently than my old one, so it took me a couple days to get used to it and figure our how to make sure it is working. I'm still trying to figure out the best place to put it so that it is the most effective for me.
Besides the large one I have in my room, I also bought a small "portable" one to use if/when I need to in the livingroom. The plug for it has a USB adapter so you can travel with it and run it off a compter if you needed to. Still haven't actually set this one up to use it yet. Not sure where to plug it in.
I hope everyone had a good Halloween. Mine was uneventful. The trick-or-treaters were coming very sporadically (and we didn't get many in total) so I let my mom do the candy and I went in my room to work on job application stuff.
Usually by this time of the year I'm in full on birthday countdown mode. (My birthday is on the 8th.) I just can't seem to get excited about it at all this year. It will be my first one in 10 years not celebrating with my now ex. None of my friends are local, so doing something with them is difficult. With the new job, there's a chance I could be working on my birthday (which would at least help some time go by faster for the day since nothing else is going on). My dad has a meeting that night for a committee he's on for the town, so we'll do my birthday dinner outing some other night, though its not as though my birthday dinner is really a celebration or anything different, its just going out to eat with my parents (which isn't really new or different especially with my living with them right now). Also, lets face it, going to dinner w/ parents for your birthday isn't the same as going with friends or a significant other.
I really like birthdays and holidays. I like decorating and planning for them. Its just not much fun when you are only planning for yourself.... Some years for my birthday I'd decide that there was something specific I wanted to do, and other years I told the ex I wanted him to plan something. This year part of me wishes it was over already so I don't have to think about how lonely thinking about it is making me feel.
I know that this is affecting my efforts with getting my eating on track. I'm just not sure what to do about it.
