I'm not sure how to begin to describe how happy I am about this loss. I was sort of treading water there for a while, so it feels really good to make a solid step in the right direction again. Only 0.4 lbs more to go until I get my 25lb charm for my key chain. :-) In 8 more pounds I'll be the weight I was half way through grad school in August 2008.
I think that part of this larger loss is that my body is getting used to being on my feet at work. It takes me a little while to get used to that sort of thing, so now with the adjustment my weight loss can settle back on track.
Yesterday I had my annual doc appointment. We discussed all of my genetic risk factors for cancer, diabetes, etc. Pretty much everything runs in my family, so getting my health in order is the only thing I can do right now to help myself (that way if I do develop something down the road my body will be in a better place to help fight it). She commended me on my progress with my weight and suggested that in addition to my multivitamin I add in a calcium + Vitamin D supplement. I think having the doctor tell me how beneficial it is for me in particular to take my vitamin regularly has helped get it to click in my mind that I really need to be better about taking it every day (instead of maybe once or twice a week on a good week). So the plan is to take the calcium pill with breakfast, and the multivitamin with dinner.
After the doc's office I met up with my friend for lunch and then the new Harry Potter movie. Definitely fun. :-) As planned I made sugar biscuits from the HP cookbook Thursday night and brought them with me for our movie snack. They came out really yummy. I think we may try to make pumpkin pasties for the July movie. They are a bit labor intensive so we'll have to wait and see if we can get our schedules to mesh right to make it work.
I feel as though my November goals are a bit of a moot point right now. I'm not tracking, though I try to keep track of points in my head to give me an idea of how much I'm eating. Now that I'm getting used to being on my feet more I can probably look at adding in one day of exercise a week for the next few weeks. The one area I have made progress on due to the job is my sleep schedule. It isn't exactly the same, but it is pretty consistent. Of course next Friday it will be all messed up because I have to be at work at 5:45am for Black Friday. (I have a feeling a nap will be happening that afternoon.)
My parents are looking into some different internet options for the house. I think my mom has reached her limit with being patient with the dial-up connection. Right now I think they are leaning towards DSL vs. cable internet. I don't really have a preference since anything will be faster than what we've got. lol.
Plans for the week include focusing on getting on track with vitamins/supplements and possibly trying to do an exercise DVD one day. (It is hard to plan things when I have on call shifts because you don't know if you have to work until an hour before the shift starts. I like to plan ahead more than that.) We're still not sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving, so I am not sure how to plan for/around that. All in all I'll aim for a little progress and trying to stay within my points based on a rough count and consider that my goal.
Nice job on your loss this week! Great goals too. You are inspiring me to take my multivitamin too. ;)
